Reunion Announcement

Hey NHS Class of ’88 alums!

How are you doing? No, nevermind, you can tell us later. There is a lot to tell. Maybe you didn’t notice, but in a
blink, two decades have gone by since last we walked the halls of Niceville High School. Thus, we turn to
conversations of the requisite and fascinating 20 year reunion event. We’re already halfway through 2008, but
there is still plenty of time to get ready, so get it inked onto your agenda and calendar and start making your travel
plans.  Our plan is to hold the reunion on the weekend of Oct 3-5 (Homecoming weekend). The Homecoming
football game is Oct 3. A detailed schedule is soon to be released and will include attending the football game
(Fri), after-game casual meet-up (Fri), park or beach picnic outing (Sat), and banquet style reception dinner (Sat).
Outside of this agenda, depending on interest, we could always organize bowling or golfing or charter boat fishing
or skydiving together, too… we’re welcoming your input.
The first (and really the most difficult) task required make this thing happen is to acquire contact info for all of our
fellow Class of ’88 alums. In this modern age of electronic information and communication, though, we should be
able to track most us down pretty quickly. Then, we just need to get everyone excited about getting back together
and get all of our classmates back to the ‘Ville! Our approach to tackling the problem is a Chain Letter of sorts. If
you could participate by addressing the following three points, it would be fantastic…

1) Contact Info
If you want to stay in touch and receive further info, reply back to this letter (to the address below) with an email
(preferably) or mail address by which we can carry on the conversation, and/or whatever other contact
information you wish to provide. We’ll have a survey for more detailed info for you to fill out a little later. You can
keep current on reunion details as they develop by (1) being on the email list, or (2) checking out
www.
nhseagles88.org periodically. Amongst other things, the website includes a link to a forum where everyone can
join the conversation. (Share some life history! Some photos! Do some catching up long before the reunion rolls
around.)
If you receive this letter, but don’t plan on attending the reunion and don’t want to receive further info, let us know,
so we can stop searching for you (note, you might want to stay in communication to acquire a compiled
memory/address book even if you don’t attend the reunion).

2) Attend Reunion?
The banquet will be held at the Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin (
www.baytownewharf.com), where there is also a
block of hotel rooms available at a group rate. The costs for the individual events listed above are $90/person for
the reception, $20/adult & $10/child for the picnic, and $6 for the football game. You can independently select the
events you wish to attend. Reception fees cover a memory/address book, also. The book alone will be $10.

Will you plan on attending this event? If not, why not?
Let us know also if you have a desire to help out with the preparations for the event. The more people involved,
the more likely it is to be a well-organized and smashing good time.

3) Spreading the word
The preference would be that you send an email address (or other contact) for each ’88 alumnus you’re in touch
with to the email address below. Then, this letter would be sent out to them if they haven’t received it already. This
would (1) enable us to know who has and has not yet been contacted, and (2) ensure that our classmates aren’t
pounded with this letter multiple times via different chains of friends. It’s understandable if you don’t want to
release someone else’s address (though we promise it won’t fall into the wrong hands and they’ll receive only
this first communiqué if they ‘unsubscribe’), so instead please forward this letter yourself if you like, and please
send us a list of the people to whom you’ve sent it, so we’ll again know who has been contacted.

The big weekend draws near! Approximately 3 weeks away. Where will you be? We want you with us! Most of us
haven’t seen you in ages! When did you stop gelling your hair?!...
The time has come to commit to the affair. At least drop us a line (info@nhseagles88.org ) to tell us ‘yea’ or ‘nay’.
Beyond that, what you can do at this point is to visit the “Help Us Out” page at the website (www.nhseagles88.org),
where you will find the following list of means (links) by which we’d love for you to contribute or participate or take
care of business…

•        Book your hotel
If you're staying at Baytowne, employ the group code 2225H1 to access the Reunion room rate. Download the housing
request form (Niceville HS Reunion HRF.pdf) for methods by which to make your reservation.
•        Pay your dues
Please try to pay by
Sept 24. Pay sooner if you can. The earlier the better to help  us get things done. Employ the
Paypal storefront! It’s quick and easy!
•        Update your contact info
Make things easier on us by providing an email address for quick communication.  Very important as the time grows
shorter. If you received this letter via email, you’re set.
•        Fill out your historical / current profile
The all-important questions: Where have you been? What have you done? Who with?   Fill in all or some of the fields.
•        We need pictures!
Help us give the class some smiles via the slideshow we're trying to put together. We KNOW you have digital pics
from recent times. Email us (
info@nhseagles88.org ) a few you love and would like to share (funny, family, NHS
pals...). Not too many digital cameras running around in 1988, but we'd like to see some of your faves from then, too.
Scan a few to digital files and email them. Heck, your copy machine at work can probably scan a picture to a file. Ask
your tech support!
•        Take our 'icebreaker' survey
Give us some insight into who you are now, have a laugh, and help us compile some useless statistics.
•        Additional Activities
Email us (
info@nhseagles88.org) to request to participate in, or create a new group meet-up activity outside of the
present itinerary. Want to get some folks together for a fishing charter? Beach volleyball? Bowling & white
Russians?...Drop us an email about it and we’ll poll the class for interest.

Price Reduction!

Some reunion expenses have turned out to be less than planned for, and some other expenses have been trimmed,
allowing us to incorporate a price reduction in the reception fee, which will now be $80/person. Those who have
already paid will be refunded the difference. That’s about 3 gallons of gas! Nice.
